Immigrants to Magog, Quebec, Canada in 1927 to 1928
Frank Grimshaw was born in Bury, Lancashire in 1901, the son of Herbert John and Mary Ellen (Taylor) Grimshaw. He became a textile designer and emigrated to Magog, Quebec in 1927. His fiancee, Margaret Emilie Fielding followed in 1928. The couple lived in Magog and, later in life, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where they lived out their lives and are buried. It is not known if Framk and Margaret Grimshaw had descendants.
Frank is descended from the Pendle Forest line of Grimshaws. Specifically, his great grandparents were Thomas and Helena (Brettargh) Grimshaw, who immigrated to the new world many years before Frank. Frank’s grandfather did not emigrate with his parents, Thomas and Helen Grimshaw, when they departed.
Another Grimshaw immigrant and his family also lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia and are buried there. This immigrant was William Charles Grimshaw, who is described on a companionwebpage. Frank Grimshaw and William Charles Grimshaw do not appear to have been related.
